Italian Biscuit Balls
Serves 4 to 6

1 (16.3-ounce) can biscuits
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons dried sweet basil
2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
1 (14-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 pound Italian sausage
1 (3-ounce) package pepperoni slices
1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

This is a great recipe either as an appetizer or a quick meal in the
outdoors. You can use different meats, or if you’re a vegetable
lover, you can substitute your favorite vegetables for some or all of
the meat.
Take your biscuits, rip them into little pieces, and roll the pieces
into little balls. Put them in a 1-gallon resealable plastic bag, and
add your Parmesan cheese, basil, and Italian seasoning. Seal the
bag tightly and shake well until the biscuits are evenly seasoned.
Dump this into your Dutch oven insert and empty an entire can of
tomato sauce on top, then add your cooked Italian sausage. Arrange
the pepperoni over that, then dump the mozzarella cheese on
top. Put the insert into the Dutch oven, cover it, and put 14 coals on
top and 7 coals around the outside of the bottom (not underneath).
Cook for about 40 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted
and browned and the biscuits are raised and cooked through.
