Blueberry Dumplings
Serves 5 to 7

1 cup all-purpose flour
1½ cups granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
½ cup 2% milk
Pinch of salt
1 (21-ounce) can blueberry pie filling
1½ quarts vanilla bean ice cream, for serving (we
prefer Breyer’s)

Combine the flour, 1 cup of sugar, the baking powder, butter, milk,
and salt in a medium bowl, and mix well to form a dough.
In a large pan over low heat, combine the remaining ½ cup of sugar,
the blueberry pie filling, and 1 cup water, and bring to a simmer.
Pinch off a small dough ball (about 3 tablespoons), roll into little
balls, and place into the simmering blueberry mixture. Let the
dumplings cook in the sauce until they have cooked through, about
7 minutes.
Spoon the dumplings and blueberry sauce into serving bowls and
scoop some vanilla ice cream over it. Make sure to take it slow and
not bite your tongue off, as this is a hard recipe to not completely
