Dutch Apple Biscuits
Serves 6 to 8

1 (16.3-ounce) can biscuits
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (21-ounce) can apple pie filling
¹⁄³ cup firmly packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons cold salted sweet cream butter, cut
into ½-inch pieces
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Rip the biscuits into small pieces, roll them into balls, and place
them in a 1-gallon resealable plastic bag. Add the granulated sugar
and cinnamon, seal the bag tightly, and shake well. Dump the
biscuits balls into your greased Dutch oven insert and make sure
all the biscuit balls are covered with sugar and cinnamon. Pour the
sweetened condensed milk and apple pie filling over the top, then
add the brown sugar, butter pieces, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
Place the insert in your Dutch oven, cover it, and put 12 coals on
top and 6 coals around the outside of the bottom (not underneath).
Cook for 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until the biscuits are cooked
through, checking occasionally to make sure they are cooking
evenly and not burning. If so, pull out, mix well, and place back in,
taking off some coals.
