Serves 4 to 6
1½ cups maple syrup
3 ripe bananas cut
evenly into ¹⁄8-inch-thin slices
1 cup dark rum
½ cup chopped walnuts
Vanilla bean ice cream
(we prefer Breyer’s),
In a large sauté pan, combine your maple syrup, bananas, and dark
rum and cook on high heat until the alcohol burns off a bit, about
10 minutes. Lower the heat to medium, throw in your chopped walnuts,
and cook until it thickens, about 5 minutes.
Scoop out a nice portion of vanilla ice cream into each serving
bowl, pour the sauce over the ice cream, let it sit and melt a little,
and then serve.
This is an easy, rich, and delicious recipe to impress anyone who
joins you for a dinner party. You probably won’t have any left, but if
you do, it’s more for you!
